Family and Carers

Our family, friends, and carers support group provides an opportunity for individuals to share their experiences and support one another in managing daily challenges.

Dealing with brain injury can be tough, and finding a support system that truly understands your struggles can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. You deserve a space where you can share your experiences, gain valuable insights, and find solace in the company of others who truly understand.

Join our supportive family, friends, and carers support group, led by our Information & Outreach Officers. We meet on the last Wednesday of every month, providing a safe place where you can connect, share, and uplift each other.

If you would like to attend our social group, please get in touch or fill out a referral today, to speak with one of our Information & Outreach Officers.

What happens in our Family and Friends group?

We often have a guest speaker, from neuro-psychologists to other experts, they’ll shed light on the latest advancements and strategies to help you navigate your journey with confidence.

Our group also offers engaging sessions like tai chi, where you can relax, rejuvenate, and let go of your worries. It’s not just about support; it’s about finding joy and laughter along the way.

It all starts with filling out a Referral Form and having an assessment with one of our Information and Outreach Officers at Headway Cardiff and South East Wales.

Join our vibrant family, friends, and carers support group, where we not only provide essential support but also organise incredible day trips to offer a break away from everyday routine. In the past year alone, we’ve embarked on thrilling adventures that have left us all with smiles plastered on our faces.

Moments like these remind us of the joy of shared experiences and the power of entertainment to bring people closer.
