Fundraising Hints and Tips

Online Fundraising

An online fundraising page is an easy, hassle free, way to collect donations. The website will send your donations directly to your chosen charity and also collect and process the Gift Aid.

Headway Cardiff & South East Wales is registered with JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving and BT MyDonate. We recommend our supporters use BT MyDonate because the website takes no commission meaning that all of your hard earned donations will come direct to our charity.

Headway UK and Headway Cardiff & South East Wales

Across the UK there are 125 Headway groups and branches who all work to improve life after brain injury. Although Headway Cardiff & South East Wales shares the Headway logo and works in partnership with Headway UK we are are a separate charity. This means that we are run independently and do not receive any financial support from the national charity Headway UK. If you are setting up an online fundraising page, and would like your fundraising to help people in South East Wales please make sure that you select Headway Cardiff & South East Wales as your chosen charity as opposed to Headway UK.

In Aid of and On Behalf of

A little bit of legal jargon!

If you are planning a fundraising event and you are making publicity material, please refer to your event as in aid of Headway Cardiff & South East Wales. This means that your event is in support of the charity but is organised independently from it. When Headway Cardiff & South East Wales organise an event, we will promote it as on behalf of Headway Cardiff & South East Wales.

Bwlch x3

Fancy a challenge? Have you been inspired by Geraint Thomas’ legendary Tour de France win?

A new Welsh cycling challenge has been created by Headway Cardiff & South Wales supporter, Jason Smith.

The Bwlch mountain can be ascended from three different routes starting from: Treorchy, Pontrhydyfen and Sarn. The challenge totals 85km with +1,815m climbing! And the three ascents must be completed within the same day.

The challenge, called Bwlchx3, has a segment on Strava and an official leader board on the website. In order for your time to be recognised on the official leader board the organisers ask for a small donation to Headway Cardiff & South East Wales. This is in lieu of the membership fee which the Mount Ventoux challenge requires.

So call your friends, dust off your bike and set yourself the challenge of Bwlchx3!

Visit the bwlchx3 website.
